Running XP Home + SP3 + all subsequent updates.
I've just downloaded AIM_670A.zip and installed the files. I do not have a physical 4170 (yet).
When I start AIM_670A.exe, all I see is a window with "Antenna Analyzer - version 670" in the title bar. The window itself is completely blank. (I'm not sure about this, but possibly something useful was actually displayed momentarily in the window as it opened, but whatever it was, it disappeared in a fraction of a second).
When I click to close the window, I get a "This program is not responding" message.
I (think I) expected to see a demo display. Where am I going wrong?

Hi Ian, I just downloaded the zip package into my laptop running Vista. When I clicked on the zip file, a list of files appeared and it looked very similar to a display you see with Windows Explorer. However, when I clicked on the exe file, I got the same blank window you see. For some perverse reason, Vista (and probably XP) don't actually unzip the file, but they don't tell you that. It's tricky. I then used a free program called "7-zip" to unzip the file and the program ran normally without an AIM hooked up. There are a few warnings about the cal file not being correct, but you can ignore that. www.7-zip.org-73/Bob

Thanks Bob, but I'm still confused. I used WinZip to extract all the files into a folder. I didn't just click on the .exe in the WinZip listing without extracting it first.
The extracted .exe seemed to run, so the extraction must have been OK.

Ops, I meant to say also that I tried 7zip as you suggested, extracting all the files from the AIM zip. The result was exactly the same -- that is, all I got was a blank screen on starting the program.
