Hello,
I recently bought a new Windows 7 OS PC and need to install the FTDI driver for my AIM 4170C. I went to the FTDI site and found the executable file "FTDI CDM Drivers 2.12.00 2014_09_29" for Windows. I ran the software and got the message "FTDI CDM Driver Pack ready to use." When I rebooted the PC with the 4170C attached, I got the message "Device driver software was not successfully installed, USB-Serial Controller, no driver found." At this point the OS installed the Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM3) driver (as noted in the Device Manager). The question is once I uninstall the Prolific driver, how do I force the OS to look for and use the FTDI driver? BTW the unit appears to work OK with the Prolific driver. Perhaps this is a moot question but would like to know the answer for future reference. Tnx...
