Has anyone looked at using a small notebook/table PC with the AIM4170 ? There are some that run regular Windows programs and these would offer great portability and complete AIM functionality. Their screens don't have the resolution of larger laptops/desktops so I'm working on a new version of the program that will take the lower resolution into account. It will still include all the processing features. If you're concerned about the cable to connect to the PC, it is easy to make a short cable since only 3 wires are required for the RS232: pins 2,3 and 5. For an even more integrated system, there's room inside the AIM4170 case to mount a USB/RS232 adapter. Here are some small PC's that look interesting: OQO model 01+ : (actually smaller than the AIM4170) www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=249730 OQO model 02: (only slightly larger than the AIM4170) www.oqo.com/products/index.html Sony CGN-UX280P : (only slightly larger than the AIM4170) www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0246018 I have not personally evaluated these models, they are just suggestions. There may be other small PC's that are useful. Let me know if you're interested in beta testing the new AIM program. vy 73/ Bob - W5BIG
