Hello Group, I just finally registered but have been reading posts for awhile.
Simple question how do I measure the phase angle using the 4170. I and having to build some coax matching section for some VHF high band bay dip0ole for use in the ham bands. I scanned the dipoles and have the files so i can look at them to see what the resistance, reactiance, then using this i want to build the matching section to "move them down into the ham band.
I e right now I am working on a DB-222 2 bay dipole with a phasing cut for 150-158 Mhz, this yields a feedpoint impeadence of 33 ohm and a Xs of about 28 at 146 mhz. using this I want compute matching section. also how do I determine the phase angle? that way i can determine the downtilt: acording to what I have read an antenna fee -24 degrees out of phase yeild about 3 degrees of downtilt, I would like to know how out of phase the antenna is so that i and able to figure downtilt and the expected coverage.
TNX jim
