Hello All, has anyone else had a problem with AVAST antivirus since yesterday? As of yesterday it started deleting the AIM_700C.exe file, nor will it allow it to be unzipped from the downloaded zipped file.
The program has been running good, but last night I tried to run the AIM4170 analyzer program and the .exe file was GONE! was not there in the program folder. OK, I have the ZIP file that has the program. I extracted the zip file, and the .exe file was blocked and was not allowed to download. No virus warning, just blocked. I click on properties and sure enough, I can see it's blocked, so I tell it to unblock. Still no joy. There are two other .exe files in the zipped folder for certain aspects of the program, they are extracted and will run just fine. ONLY the AIM_700C.exe file is missing and blocked.
I scan the zip file with antivirus, clean file, no problems. I go on line to a website that will allow a file to be uploaded and scanned on their site by about 20 difference antivirus programs - ALL of them give it a clean rating.
What is wrong? The program will download and run just fine on friend's computer - he's at home on phone.
I disable AVAST antivirus program and all is well - the program runs just fine then. What must have happened, yesterday during day sometime AVAST updated it database and something triggered a hit on that .exe file to cause it to be removed. it will scan as clean, but still will remove. The scan log inside AVAST shows the affected files as clean and no problem. Heck, I even went into settings and put the folder as "excluded" saying AVASAT should NOT bother anything there, but still no joy. The AIM_700C.exe file is deleted each time it tries to extract. If the AVAST is disabled, the program runs. Once AVAST is enabled - file removed. Still no warning or record, but it's gone!
Just wondering if anyone else had this problem with AVAST yesterday?
