The Zplots Excel utility provides an alternate method for viewing the results of a scan. Version 1.5, recently uploaded, can now read general purpose Touchstone s1p and s2p format files. Although this does not apply directly to either of Bob's AIM4170 or VNA2180 devices, you may find this feature useful for reading s1p/s2p files produced by other VNA hardware as well as reading s1p/s2p files found on the websites of many electronics component manufacturers.
When reading s2p format files, Zplots will ask which subset(s) of data you wish to use on the XY chart: Reflection (S11/S22) only, Transmission (S21/S12) only, or both, for either the Forward or Reverse direction. If Reflection data is used, with or without Transmission data, then the Smith chart is also shown.
Zplots is free but requires that you have Microsoft Excel installed, with macro support enabled. Zplots will not run under Open Office Calc.
