Greetings All,
Does the 4170 and related application work with Windows 7? Are there any precautions that should be observed?

Hi Jim,
The software works fine with Win 7. I run Win 7 on my primary computer. I also use the AIM and VNA with Vista and Win 2K. The same version works without any changes on all these systems.
Sometimes the USB interface is a bit tricky. You have to have the latest driver. If you have a serial port, that is recommended for the AIM4170. If you're looking for a new USB adapter, those in the $25-$35 are generally more reliable than the cheap ones in the $5 to $10 range. Adapters using the FTDI chip are recommended.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have certainly enjoyed owning and using the 4170. I will be replacing my primary computer soon and wanted to be sure that my 4170 would be OK with Win 7. I currently have the Prolific USB adapter and the latest driver, so it sounds as if I will be OK with that.
Thanks again, Bob, Jim, KF4F
