New Features: 1. An audio tone related to the SWR can be output to the PC speaker so equipment adjustments can be made without looking at the monitor. The tone limits can be user specified. 2. An SWR circle is plotted on the Smith chart. 3. Save and restore last graph when closing the program and restarting it. 4. Find comm port up to number 64. Halt button stops scan. www.w5big.com/prog_update.htmThe tone output makes it much easier to adjust antennas. You can turn up the volume so you can hear it or use a phone to relay the tone to the work site.

You may have to clear the cache and try it again. Alternatively, you can go straight to the zip file by using this address: www.w5big.com/AIM_620.zip73/ Bob

HI Bob, I purchased the 4170 at Friedrichshafen HamRadio. Really a great tool ! Just a question. When I start a Recycle, I see that the curves of the scanning cycle under way are plotted over the curves of the previous one. Is it possible to update the screen (erasing the old curves) at the beginning of the new scanning cycle ? If not, it would be useful to add this option in the software. Thanks Arturo IK7JWY

Thanks Arturo IK7JWY Hello Arturo, Thank you for purchasing the AIM4170 Yes, it is possible to clear the screen after each scan. This is an option in the configuration file (*.cfg). Open the config file with any text editor, such as Notepad. Look for a line that says: " 0 Do not clear each screen during recycle mode ( 1= do clear )" Change the Zero to a One. If you want to change the rate at which the recycle occurs, you can change the following parameter: " 300 Delay in milliseconds while recycling. Several seconds may be useful in some cases." Then save the config file and restart the AIM program or recall the config file using the menu: "File -> "Load config file". Note: you can have as many different versions of the config file as you want and recall them when they are needed. 73/ Bob
