I am not a computer expert but just wanted to let those interested know that the AIM 4170, Bluetooth and Win7 will work very well together. The combo of the GridConnect FireFly and Fireplug did the trick. The only difficulty I had was setting the baud rate of the FireFly. I used a RS232 polarity changer(2 to 3, 3 to2) and a RS232 port/cable on an old computer to program the FireFly. Then I used a RS232 plug wired 2 to 3 to confirm the connection worked. It did and life was good.
I recently upgraded to a new Laptop (Dell Inspiron 1318) with Win7. I was concerned about compatibility problems but it worked right out of the box. I also downloaded the latest AIM 4170 sw and it looks and works great...
This is the best valve in amateur radio I have encountered in years...
