A new AIM4170 program is available: www.w5big.com/prog_update.htmThe preliminary release had some problems which have been addressed in version AIM_688A. I'm sorry for the mix-up. -- Bob

Bob,
Is the .ini file format in 688 the same as in 685? I have created several different .ini files for 685, and would ideally like to put them in the 688 folder without needing to change them.

Hi Ian, The format of the config file is the same as 685. I noticed there is one line in the file called: AIM_default.cfg that should be changed for faster operation:
0 one means RS232=115K, 0 means RS232=57.6K
Change to:
1 one means RS232=115K, 0 means RS232=57.6K
The ini file is rewritten completely when the program is closed, it only saves the last set of conditions at that time.

p.s. - I updated the config file, so if you download AIM_688.zip now, it has the flag for the RS232 speed set to 1 for faster comm with the pc.

Hi Bob,
Many thanks. And thanks for recognizing that I was talking about the wrong file -- I really meant the .cfg file, not the .ini..... :-)
