I am preparing a talk and live demonstration of the AIM4170 for a local radio club (in Bedfordshire, UK).
Can anyone point me to websites containing AIM4170 antenna plots, or any other related material?
Thanks.

The presentation is almost complete. I have included a number of real antenna plots, but these are all for the HF bands. For balance, does anyone have a plot of a 2m antenna that I could include in the presentation? Full acknowledgements will be included of course.
Thanks.

I must say a big thank you to Ian for taking the trouble to put together and to present his talk on the AIM.
I went to the presentation with the intention of learning more about making the most of my AIM, and was very pleased at the enlightenment Ian's talk gave me.
This has now spurred me on to do more antenna experimentation with the AIM being key to getting it right.
Thanks Ian for the talk and to Bob for creating an excellent tool in the first place.

If you are in the UK in October, you may be interested in coming along to the RSGB 2010 Convention: www.rsgb.org/rsgbconvention/index.phpThe full program for the convention is here: www.rsgb.org/rsgbconvention/events_programme.phpOn the Sunday morning (10 October) I will be giving a couple of presentations on the AIM4170. The first will cover the basics of antenna measurement and the 4170, and the second will illustrate the use of the 4170 as a design tool. Live demonstrations of the 4170 will be the main feature of the presentations, and will include tuning a 4m groundplane, trap tuning, designing a 160/80m trap dipole, measuring quartz crystal parameters, using the Smith chart, quarter-wave stub tuning and measuring the impedance at the antenna feedpoint. The final demonstration will show how to control the analyzer remotely via a WiFi link, allowing you to tune your antenna while standing in the yard (or on the roof or at the top of the tower). The presentations will be based on the material at : homepage.ntlworld.com/wadei/aim4170.htmThe venue for the Convention is Horwood House in the county of Buckinghamshire: www.rsgb.org/news/article.php?id=0027Horwood House is located about 50 miles (80km) north-west of London, close to the city of Milton Keynes. A further local attraction, just 5 miles (8km) from Horwood House, is Bletchley Park, home of the World War II Codes and Ciphers School where the Enigma and other encryption systems were broken: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bletchley_ParkIf you plan to come along to my presentations at the Convention, please let me know and I will reserve a front seat for you! -- 73 Ian, G3NRW mailto: g3nrw@yahoo.co.uk

Ian, I have been posting my scans at: antennagraphs.comJust purchased a USB to RS-232 adapter because my new computer has issues with the AIM 4170 - all appears to be well now so I hope to get back to adding additional scans. Robert, NE8R
