I Just experienced a very strange problem with my 120. For no apparent reason, when starting the program I would get "This software is only for the AIM" and various error messages and was unable to start it. This also happened on a second laptop but not as bad, a couple restarts and it might work. Also when the program started it had lost all previous settings, and came up as a small box instead of full screen. Basically everything was just coming up weird.
General background information: my laptop is old, It's running XP, it has a true DB9 serial port, the AIM normally has power 24/7 via battery (don't know if there are memories kept alive when turned off).
This all seems like there was some bad data on the serial line along with other software anomalies.
The only thing that was different when this started is that I had loaded the new ENDECsetD software on the primary laptop. I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
Note for the non-broadcast people ENDECsetD is the program used for serial programming of a Sage ENDEC Emergency Alert System (EAS)in broadcast facilities.
As of now it seems to be resolved, I removed ENDECsetD, and left the AIM unpluged for a day and it seems I've got things working again. (Note: I was doing all sorts of other things too that didn't seem to help)
FWIW the AIM initiates serial comms at 56700, and then shifts to 115200.
For as much as I depend on the AIM this fault was very scary. I'm still checking things.

For a Quick update, everything seemed fine for a while. Then without warning it started again when I was out in the field trying to measure a unipole.
This time (once back at the shop) I found using a USB serial converter got it to work.
Currently my best guess is that something is corrupting the serial data just enough to cause trouble. Best guess is possibly a cap in the AIM or computer.
I'll be doing more tests in the future to see what I can determine.
