I am measuring probably just under 100 feet of RG-58 50 Ohm co-ax running to outdoors, terminated at the far end with a 50 ohm dummy load. Can someone explain why the scan ends at about 20 feet? I suspect this co-ax either has mechanical crush damage at about 25 feet from the analyzer (AIM4170) or water ingress at the far end. I also suspect my tdr method.... Thanks.

At the bottom of the TDR screen is a tab called Scales where you can select the maximum length and impedance displayed. It looks very much like you have the range set to 20 feet. The data is still there, so if you expand the range to 100 feet, you should see the end of the cable.

Thanks I will re do the trace with the correct settings. I see an earlier post about TDR measurement citing later versions of the software starting a trace to the left of the start position and I am seeing this here, should I change to an older version of the software to mitigate this? Thanks again your help is much appreciated.

Yes, there is definitely a bug in the latest version which essentially renders the TDR function useless. As far as I have seen on this forum, the only solution is to use an earlier version. Would like to know if there is another solution.
