Hi,
I have just installed a new antenna, and it isn't working as well as I had hoped. I have saved a bitmap of a sweep of the antenna using my AIM 4170. I would like to put the image in a post and ask for help.
How do I insert a bitmap?
Thanks

Here's an example of including an image in your post. 1. Upload the image to your website. 2. In your post, click the icon that says "enter image". It's the fourth icon to the right of the YouTube icon (red). 3. Enter the url of your image between the [ i m g ] brackets. To make the image fit the web page better, you can change the size of the graph with parameters in the config file. This can also be done with images in GIF or PNG format. Pictures (but not graphs) can be in JPG format. Graphs don't look good in JPG format.-- 73/Bob

Do you have your own web site you can upload files to? I don't believe this forum will allow you to directly attach a file to a post you make to the forum. Are you comfortable saving a scan as a bitmap, using the AIM programme's Files - Save Image Bitmap? If so save the bitmap(s) somewhere you can remember the location of, say on your Desktop, with unique names, and either upload it / them to your web server, and put a link in your post here to the files on your server, or if you are really stuck e-mail them to me as e-mail attachments and I'll post them up in this thread for you. It's no trouble. My e-mail is chris@chriswilson.tv
You will have to put a separate post up describing the issues you have in this thread. Hope that helps. Ideally you want to change the images to a .png format as that makes them smaller to post and receive, but it's no big deal.

I dont have a website to upload files to. I'll look for a "service" that does that ( yahoo?) I apperciate you offering to do this for me. I think I'll have a lot of other questions in the future so i don't wish to use your resources for my benefit - a very kind offer though.

Most internet service providers provide space for a personal web page. They often have templates of sample pages to help you get started. You don't need a fancy page, just the space to upload image files. Bitmap files are pretty large. It's better to save screen shots as gif images. Photos can be saved as jpg images.
