When tuning an antenna, I often use "Recycle", so that I can see the effects of incremental changes. However, after a few scans, the display usually becomes a mess, making it necessary to "Halt" and then "Recycle" again.
In the "would be nice" category, I would like to be able to specify the number of scans (the "depth") that remain on the display during "Recycle". For example, if "depth" = 1, then only the current scan and the immediately previous scan would be displayed at any one time. When the next scan comes along, the original scan disappears, leaving just the (new) current scan and the immediately previous one -- something like a radar sweep display.
If "depth" = 2, then only the current scan and the previous 2 scans would be displayed, and so on.
If "depth" = 0, this could be taken to mean that an infinite number of scans remain on the display; i.e. the current behavior for "Recycle".
Rather than add a "Depth" button to the row of buttons on the display, a new "depth" parameter could be added to the config file, with a default value of 0.
Would this be do-able, Bob?

Hi Ian, Thanks for the suggestion. This parameter can be implemented by using the present config parameter that has the comment field: 0 Do not clear each screen during recycle mode
Right now the only values used are zero or one.
The numeric value can be extended to be the number of scans before clearing the screen. I've also changed the new version of the recycle mode to alternate between light and dark colors so it's easier to see which is the newest trace. I'll try to have this implemented in the next release.
