Wonder if I can ask some stupid questions? What is the difference between the various versions like 4170A, 4170B, and 4170C. Is there any reason to want to update to the latest version. I can see the info on the latest software and that is quite clear. TNX, Marvin

The differences in the versions was discussed in a message here on Jan. 13, 2009. A person who is comfortable doing SMT work can upgrade the units. The differences are not major but the newer versions have a little less noise, go to lower frequencies, have a sync output, and an SO-239 connector. I have a version A unit that is electrically equivalent to the version C except that it has the BNC connector.
