Hi Burt, The latest program for the PowerAIM is version 684a. It's the same program as the AIM4170 but the PowerAIM has some special functions that the 4170 doesn't have. The program senses which instrument is connected when it starts to run. That's why the power has to be on when you launch the pc program. If the power is off, the program defaults to the 4170 demo mode. www.w5big.com/prog_update.htm--73/Bob

Bob, Thanks for the quick reply. I ran across the 684a update and I've downloaded it. Earlier today when I let 680 do a check for updates it didn't take me to 684a so when I did discover 684a I wasn't sure if it would work with the 120. One of the issues I see with 680 is that some of the dialog boxes open behind others and it's a bit awkward to work back and forth and in some cases I don't even see the newer dialog box. I've been playing with the 120 ever since it arrived 2 days ago. I have a triplexed AM tune-up coming up in a few weeks and I'm trying to get as familiar with the 120 as I can before then.
