Howdy Bob, In the AIM 865A software is a tab for the TDR measurements. Can you define the frequency span that is used for this measurement? Thanks

The TDR function uses the maximum frequency range of the AIM depending on if it's an AIM4170 or an AIMuhf. This is done automatically so you don't have to worry about specifying it.

Thanks Bob, that explains how the definition on the trace is so good. So the readings shown on the display are an average across the span frequency of the unit?

With my AIM120, I like the TDR function, but I will caution, I don't know why but it can miss trouble. I had an combined FM antenna in trouble, shot it with the AIM and it looked good. Shot it with an Anritsu site master and it failed big time. Went to the point where the Anritsu indicated trouble opened the line and found a big pile of suit.
I'm guessing this is due to the limited frequency range the Power AIM has to work with. Since this was 4" line I did have to limit the site master to less than 1 gig on it's sweep frequency.
